I love my kitchen. It's huge in comparison to most NYC apartment kitchens and cooking has been a pleasure during our time in this apartment. Josh and I went to Ikea the other week to shop for a cabinet to store our wedding china, and instead of buying a cabinet, we bought two kitchen cabinets and placed them back to back (after 2 days' worth of painful assembly) in the middle of the kitchen for ideal efficiency.
I liked cooking before, but with this new work space with fantastic storage, I wish I had more time to cook! Now the two of us can cook at the same time without stepping over one another. With more surface area, I'm able to do prep faster and I could even use half of the space to serve food! Our old kitchen island cart served its purpose well, and it's now along the wall (strange that we have enough room for that in the kitchen too) serving as miscellaneous counter space. We tried giving it away, but nobody has room in their kitchen for it!
